To the Team at Hospice House Central Okanagan,
On behalf of my mother, Jo, my sisters, Robyn and Maureen, and myself, I would like to extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks for the compassionate care you provided to my father, Grant Gair, earlier this year.

From the moment he arrived at Hospice House Central Okanagan, it was evident that he was in capable and caring hands. Your facility itself reflects dignity and comfort, but it is the people within it who truly make the difference. Every member of your team — from nursing staff to support personnel — demonstrated professionalism, patience, and genuine kindness during an incredibly difficult time for our family.

My mother and sisters were especially impressed with both the quality of the facility and the warmth of the individuals working there. The atmosphere you create balances clinical excellence with humanity. You supported not only my father in his final days, but also our entire family as we navigated the emotional weight of saying goodbye.

We are deeply grateful that his last days were spent in an environment defined by respect, attentiveness, and calm reassurance. The dignity you afforded him, and the consideration shown to us, will not be forgotten. Your work requires not only skill but also emotional strength and compassion, and it is clear that Hospice House Central Okanagan embodies both.

Please accept our sincere appreciation for the care, comfort, and professionalism you provided. You made a profoundly difficult chapter more bearable for our family, and for that we are truly thankful.

My friend was diagnosed with terminal cancer. For the first two years after her diagnosis she lived alone and went through her treatments until she decided they were too hard to endure. She chose no more treatments and lived quite well until the cancer progressed. She was placed in Hospice and because the location is so convenient, I was able to see her every day.
The staff were incredibly kind, caring and attentive. She called them angels. Since she had no family in town, they became her family, and Hospice House became her home. She was able to maintain her dignity and spent the last few weeks of her life in a beautiful setting with wonderful care. She always told me that she felt blessed to be there and it was the best place she could have ever been. I could come and go anytime day or night if she needed me. It started feeling like home to me too. She died peacefully in her sleep and the staff was kind enough to keep her in her room until we could go and say our goodbyes. They never rushed us. You could see that they were affected by each patient's death almost as much as the families were, even though it was an everyday occurrence of the job.
