While the facility and grounds of Hospice House provide a place of serenity, it’s the people who work and volunteer at Hospice House who are the heart and soul.
Hospice House is staffed by a team of people highly skilled in providing personal and family-centered care. The individual and his or her family are invited to take an active part in planning care.
Hospice House is an Interior Health owned and operated facility staffed by professional and specialty trained Interior Health Care Staff.
The Central Okanagan Hospice Association (COHA) is a community partner that provides specialty-trained compassionate volunteers. Volunteers from the Central Okanagan Hospice Association play an important role by providing supportive care services such as companionship, caregiver support, vigil, legacy sharing, haircuts, wellness services and taking individuals for walks in the beautiful, serene gardens. Volunteers also support celebratory occasions, seasonal food programs, play music, and help maintain the gardens and bird feeders. COHA collaborates with different community organizations to provide additional services to add quality for individuals, loved ones and friends.
Anticipatory grief counselling is also available upon request.
